What is the Glenhope Dads Club?
The Dads Club is a volunteer organization that works to assist students and staff of Glenhope elementary, ultimately improving the schools ability to provide a positive learning environment for all students.
Who can join the Glenhope Dads Club?
Any dad of a current Glenhope elementary student (Kindergarten – 5th grade) can be a member.
What does the Glenhope Dads Club do?
The Dads Club hosts several events throughout the school year. Some of these events raise funds that can be used for students in need of special assistance during the school year. Examples of assistance that we have provided in the past include paying for field trips, school supplies and even dental work for students whose families could not cover such expenses. In addition, the Dads Club partners with the PTA to provide two student scholarships every year.
How much time is required to participate?
Members can volunteer as much time as is comfortable to them. Some of the events we host require quite a bit of assistance from members. Those events include our annual Back-to-School Sock Hop, Spaghetti Dinner and also the Grapevine Christmas Parade Float Building. Other activities where we participate include the School Registration, Fall Festival, and Curriculum Nights.
How often does the Dads Club meet?
During the school year, we meet once per month, usually on the second Monday of the month from 7p to 8p at the Glenhope cafeteria. Members who participate in events throughout the year will also meet periodically to plan and execute on that particular event.
How much does it cost to be a member?
Nothing. It’s absolutely free.
